Lamont Landers
“Born and raised in Alabama, Lamont Landers grew up absorbing the soulful sounds of the South around him. At age 14, he learned to play guitar and at 19, he began singing. He spent years honing his talent behind his bedroom door, listening to records by Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Sly & The Family Stone, and Ray Charles on repeat. At age 22, a video recorded by his sister of Lamont performing the Ray Charles classic “Hit the Road Jack” went viral on YouTube, garnering over 400,000 views overnight. In the summer of 2023, history repeated itself with a similar fan response, propelling five of Lamont Landers’ TikTok videos to over 1,000,000 views each. Shortly after, he appeared on the nationally syndicated Bobby Bones radio show and received praise from music tastemakers such as Snoop Dogg and Questlove.
