The Books in Print CD Rom changed to Global Books

Post by samiaseo222 »

"Today the law is clear: the United States government and the governments of each state may be sued for copyright infringement, and may not plead immunity as a defense."1 Is there any wonder why governments like the idea of secrecy so much? Some people fear that the United States may be transforming itself into a totalitarian police state. This investigation of Gordon/Revisionist Press would lead one to believe that such fears may be justified.

In January 1993, I noticed that Books in Print job function email list indicated that Gordon Press listed 6189 titles. If true, this meant that Gordon Press was one of America's largest publishers in 1993. Random House listed 5025 titles at the time. Harcourt Brace Javanovich listed 3800 titles. Macmillan Publishing listed 6435 titles, and Harper-Collins listed 7143 titles. By comparison, Noontide Press registered only 90 titles. It is extraordinarily significant that one of the nation's largest publishers is a phantom company operated by the government to spy upon the literate population of the country. Gordon Press is clearly well funded and keeps pace with changing circumstances.

In October 1997, in Print, which includes Whitakers also. I noticed some curious developments, among them that there was only one publisher listed for The International Jew -- Gordon Press. It was still listed among the books published by Noontide, but if you tried to obtain detailed information about the book you were transferred to the Gordon Press citation. By 1998, it was again possible to find Noontide's citation. One could still view all 6,700+ titles listed for Gordon Press, and go to its most revealing years: 1986-1988.
