The Internet has become an ally in business for various economic areas, as demonstrated by the increases in e-Commerce (or online buying and selling) figures:
– In 2009, e-commerce generated a turnover of over 6.3 billion euros and one in six Spaniards bought a product or service over the Internet.
– The figure given by the CMT is somewhat lower, but indicates that the tourism sector was in first place, with a volume of 514.6 million euros (32.6% of the total). Direct marketing remains in cash app data second place, with 154.9 million euros.
In a previous post we talked about the new discounted purchasing options, through group purchases . If the number of users was met, the purchase was made; otherwise, the amount was not debited from the card. But what are the advantages of buying food, a pair of pants or shoes online? Is it worth paying a shipping cost for an item of clothing that I have not been able to try on?

Enrique Dans comments on the case of a farmer-entrepreneur and his online sale of strawberries (I recommend reading the comments, especially #30, harsh but realistic), on Ciao you can read various negative experiences regarding online shopping for clothes and there are multiple websites available to begin the shopping experience ( BuyVip to find brand name and sports clothing, ViaVip for travel with high discounts, Boutique Secret with products for mom and baby, and so many others that can be found in online store directories such as Tiendas en Liquidación , Directorio Outlet or Flesko).
But, trying to answer the question in the title of the post (and you can add your answers in the comments), let's see:
Advantages:
– Convenience of shopping without set schedules and without having to physically travel.
– Access to special offers (once subscribed to these stores, you can choose to receive communications according to your areas of interest: brands, discounts, etc.).
– Access to global virtual stores, with the possibility of purchasing products that are difficult to acquire in the place of residence.
– Benefit from significant discounts.
Disadvantages:
– Shipping time (slowness in receiving the order by the buyer)
– Requires someone to receive the order at the address listed (if perishable food products are purchased, it may be inconvenient if there is no one to receive them)
– High product price (a kilo of fruit bought online is generally more expensive than buying it offline)
– Difficulty or even impossibility of trying on clothes or shoes (although there are virtual fitting rooms)
– Impossibility of reproducing the sensory experience of shopping (texture of clothing, food, perfumes, “fall” of a garment on the body, etc.)
– (In) Security in online shopping (although it is an issue in which much progress has been made and there are security protocols that stores should comply with and the user should check to minimize risks)
– High shipping costs (in these cases, it is best to get together with 3 or 4 people and make a larger purchase, in order to bear less shipping costs individually).
If you have ever purchased online, perhaps you can tell us about your experience and agree with some of the advantages or disadvantages discussed here. If you have never done so, which of the above do you think could influence a future purchase?
Why do you shop online?
