1. Create a design that will look good on all devices
The system displays your map properly on each device, so it's important to use the map fields correctly. On the Apple Watch, for example, the center image and thumbnail images are not displayed, so there's no need to put important information on these elements.


2. Avoid simply copying an existing plastic card
Wallet has an established design aesthetic, so cards that are designed to match that aesthetic tend to look better. Instead of trying to replicate the look of a plastic card, take advantage of the opportunity to create a clean, simple card that matches the form and function of the Wallet app.

The text in the card title field is displayed in a single font. To avoid mixing your card with other cards in Wallet, it is recommended to enter text in the title field instead of using a custom font. The company name at the top of the card allows the user to quickly identify the card of your company. In case you do not want to use the top of the card to write the company name, use a logo that will allow the user to easily identify the card as belonging to your company.


4. Use a rectangular barcode
Because the card layout has its own characteristics, a rectangular barcode, such as PDF417, may look better than a square one. A square barcode creates empty space at the top and sides.


5. Use the appropriate map fields to display text
Using fields allows VoiceOver users to get all the information about your map and makes the map look right. It is also a good idea to avoid embedding text in images and using custom fonts, as not all images display on all devices and this can be difficult for users to read.
