A career is often a journey with unpredictable twists and turns and complex decisions . In my own professional odyssey, I have often found myself at crossroads where the right direction was not always clear. As you can see from my CV, I also had many questions such as:

Staff position or team leader ?
Should I teach at the university on the side?
Internal or external (consultant)?
Self-employed or employee?
These are just a few of the questions I have had to answer over time, and yahoo email list the answer was not always easy. An important factor was always consulting with exactly three mentors who gave me different perspectives. Three different opinions allowed me to look at the problem differently.

What drives me?
But the question remains: What drives me? What do I actually want? Ultimately, no one can make this decision for me. The decision to leave your familiar comfort zone and take new paths is always hard and of course involves risks, but old paths do not lead to new opportunities. I am always highly motivated in every position because my job is very important to me, so it was never easy to leave a job because I always give 130%!

Throughout this time, I have always enjoyed using a tool that a former manager of mine showed me in 2016: “Moving Motivators”.

Originally developed by Jurgen Appelo as part of Management 3.0, Moving Motivators is much more than a simple card game. It is a structured tool designed to reveal the deep motivations behind professional decisions. The cards represent key factors such as recognition, collaboration, influence, autonomy, learning, security, challenge, status and reward. Users are asked to rank these motivators in an individual order, which creates a clear picture of their personal motivation map.
